Marden Horticultural Society members give Nature a helping hand!

Dec 19, 2022

Marden has many scarce plants that indicate the influence of the Ancient Woodland (the Roman forest of Anderida) and its remnants in Bridgehurst Wood and old hedgerows.

These include species that only spread very slowly and require special conditions to germinate. Skilled members of Marden Horticultural Society are propagating these from local specimens to help restock the local area with genetically suitable specimens.

Dyer’s Greenweed (an axiophyte) and the Wild Service Tree are two of these.
